Pair of mid century armchairs by Šmidek
A pair of mid-century bentwood armchairs, designed by Jaroslav Šmidek and made in the former Czechoslovakia. This particular design - 6951 - was created as a submission to a competition run by TON in the 1960s. It was put into production and was very popular; it remains a much sought-after design to the present day.
These chairs are in good structural condition: the wooden frame is generally solid and the joints are sound. The finish on the arms is worn, but the issue is cosmetic only. The upholstery is original and needs to be replaced, so we are selling this pair as a restoration project.
